About me...

Picture

"Tous les hommes de progrès ont comme point de départ un respect profond du passé."

Ernest Renan (1823-1896) French Philosopher, Historian and Writer

"Every man of progress has as his departure point a profound respect for the past."

I have spent much of my working life as a theatre practitioner, writer, and artist. Like many artists before me, teaching and research have played important parts in my work. For it is through teaching that one keeps in touch with new ideas and experiences, so important for research that is vital for the evolution of the creative process.

For many years I wanted to work in Europe, for I have a deep philosophical conviction that European cooperation and integration are not only desirable, but an absolute necessity if the smaller countries that make up the rich and varied tapestry that is at the heart of the civilisation of our continent are to be able to keep their individual identities intact. In 1994, I chose to relocate to France, a founder member of the European Union, and one of the main crossroads for the transmission of art, culture, and new ideas that fertilise exchanges between the Northern countries and those of the Mediterranean basin.

In clicking on the pages above, you will find the presentation of a number of projects in which I played a key role and which have had a profound influence on my life. They are the foundation blocs for my future, which will be the AASNouTec project, dedicated to new forms of contemporary creation built around Art, Science, and New Technologies and open to a wider general public, who will have an opportunity to participate in these disciplines, instead of being excluded from them, as is often - far too often - the case.
